Grandma Diane loved one of my Fine Art Images, “A Red Amaryllis” and asked to have the image in the grandbaby’s portrait. With the help of a wire coat hanger, a wire cutter and a very patient and helpful dad, this is the what the set and all my assistants looked like.
The final result.

“How do you photograph sleeping babies?” was mom’s first question to me when we met for their consultation. “Very quietly,” was my answer. I am very funny.
Whether they are sleeping, wide awake playing or yelling at the top of their lungs,
they all have one thing in common… they are precious!
My favorite part of a baby’s session is when we photograph the tiny little body parts; fingers, ears, lips, toes - everything is just so tiny and wonderful. Using the parents as “people props” gives us a standard “yardstick” to show exactly how small this little one is – a perspective that grows over the months and years as the baby grows. The parents’ wedding rings tie the whole family together when they are placed on the baby’s big toes. Can you imagine the fun and memories that will be created on those ”do you remember when” storytelling days yet to come when the kids try to fit mommie’s wedding ring onto their big toes?
“The Nine”
“The Nine” is a piece of art that is unique to each family and to each child. Even though I photograph the toes, fingers, nose, ears, etc, on each baby’s session, it is from a new angle and view each time. “The Nine” is designed from those images and no two are the same.
